COVID-19 Adapted Swimming

Adapted swimming varies slightly from venue to venue
  • Swimmers will be over 5 years and able to be self-sufficient when needing the toilet. (Our younger swimmers will be kept on our waiting list and offered places as soon as we can)
  • Our first phase will have groups with up to 5 swimmers, 1-1 or 1-2.
  • Swimmers will be met by a Surrey Swim School Poolside Assistant in Banstead Prep School car park, the pool fire door at St John’s School
  • Swimmers will arrive beach ready and change on poolside. Changing rooms will not be available we can)
  • Swimmers will be asked to bring a labelled swim bag for their clothes
  • On entering the pool, swimmers will put the shoes in his/her swim bag
  • On poolside there will be a basket for each swimmer to put his/her clothes etc in
  • Swimmers will wait until teacher is ready for them to go in the water
  • The Poolside Assistant will return swimmers back to the parent/guardian
  • When the lesson has finished, swimmers will towel dry on poolside, keeping their swimsuit on. We suggest swimmers dress in suitable warm clothing including a Onesie, Swimsie, dry-robe and a coat during colder weather. Boys will find close fitting swim shorts such as ‘Speedo’ more comfortable to wear after swimming than baggy shorts
  • Swimmers will bring their own equipment – a woggle/noodle and two floats for up to Stage 5 and a kickboard and pull buoy for Stage 6 and above
  • Less confident swimmers are welcome to bring any floatation aids that they feel more comfortable with
  • Parents/guardians are asked to arrive by car and to remain in their cars, no pets or wandering about at Banstead Prep
  • In an emergency, Surrey Swim school will phone the number that was given on the COVID Declaration form
